Currently, the Morning Room is not available. Due to Covid 19, I decided to take fewer guests in an effort to ensure safety for all. Despite the end of restrictions, I am choosing safety.
The Morning Room, a lovely large bedroom, has twin beds, with a private bathroom upstairs.
This room has a rather lovely working ‘Japanoise’ style iron fireplace with interesting circles enclosing insects or flowers. This room was indeed the room where the owners of the house spent the mornings. It would be easy to put up a plasterboard wall and install a bathroom, but just because a thing is possible, doesn’t mean one should do it. Georgian architecture is all about classic lines and balance. To break up the room would spoil it and so I decided that I would not do so. Hence the private bathroom for this room is upstairs. Dressing gowns are provided.
There are fascinating ink drawings by artist Peter Matthews. (http://petermatthews.org/)
If you are a family or friends and happy to share a bathroom, you might also want to reserve the Lavender Room which is on the top floor next to the bathroom for the Morning Room. A very pretty room with lower ceiling, working fireplace and hand-basin.
Dimensions: The Morning Room is 16ft x 14 ft or 4.8m x 4.2m.
Each single bed is 35.4×79 inc or 90cm x 200cm)
The Morning Room is left vacant if someone books the Lavender. Room There is no sharing of the bathroom except by request for family or friends.
All bedrooms are on the front of the house facing Main Street.
